In mid-October, Stevie Wonder will take to the road for a tour to celebrate the 50th anniversary of his acclaimed album Songs in the Key of Life. These shows will kick off in the U.K. on October 13 and then following a month in Europe, Wonder will perform for a couple weeks in the U.S.

Yesterday was the 50th anniversary of the album’s original release. To mark the occasion, Wonder pulled together a new EP of previously unreleased songs from the original sessions. Songs in the Key of Life 50: The EP includes: “My Life Story of Love,” “It’s Easier,” “I Can See the Sun In Late December,” and “I’m Into Livin’.” The lyrics for “My Life Story of Love” were co-written with Susaye Greene who also co-wrote Michael Jackson’s “I Can’t Help It” with Wonder.

“We’ve lived with Songs in the Key of Life for fifty years, but there’s still more to hear,” Wonder said in a statement. “We didn’t add these songs to the album, but they were part of what I was feeling and discovering as we made it. They bring me back to that time in my life, and now they get to become part of yours.”

Wonder curated the songs that appear on Songs in the Key of Life 50: The EP. The tracks were mixed for this release EP by the album’s original recording and mixing engineers, John Fischbach and Gary O Adante.

Songs in the Key of Life 50 regularly appears on lists of the greatest records of all time. It includes such beloved songs as “Isn’t She Lovely,” “Sir Duke,” “I Wish” and “Love’s in Need of Love Today.” Wonder’s upcoming tour dates appear below the audio for “It’s Easier,” from the EP.
