The David Lynch Foundation
will celebrate the life and work of Ringo Starr and honor him with the Lifetime of Peace & Love Award during the global launch of its new performance arts events division, entitled DLF LIVE. The celebration will be held at Los Angeles’ El Rey Theatre on January 20 and feature a star studded celebration of Starr’s music. Don Was, who recently produced the Love for Levon retrospective and will lead an all-star Gregg Allman tribute this weekend, will serve as the night’s musical director. Confirmed artists include: Peter Frampton, Ben Folds, Joe Walsh, Brendon Benson, Ben Harper, Bettye LaVette and Dave Stewart, among others.

The launch of DLF Live will continue on February 27 at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel when the Foundation honors Rick Rubin with the Lifetime of Harmony Award. The evening will boast a rare live performance by the Dixie Chicks as well as Damien Rice, Jake Bugg and several surprise guest artists.
