God Street Wine returned to Port Chester, NY’s Capitol Theatre for the first time in almost 20 years on Saturday night. The show wrapped-up a three-night run through Relix publisher Peter Shapiro’s New York venues (the other two shows took place at Brooklyn Bowl). Furthur guitarist John Kadlecik opened the night and, during God Street Wine’s second set, emerged for a handful of songs. Along with Lizzy Kates, the guitarist sat in on “Buttons & Leslie,” “Stranger,” “Chop,” “Silver,” “Peggy-O,” “Fortress of Solitude,” “The Other Shore” and “Borderline.” They also returned during God Street Wine’s encore for “Romeo’s Tune” and “Gretchen.” Onetime God Street Wine member Jason Crosby, who has served as an auxiliary part of the band for the past two years, also sat in throughout the night.

God Street Wine have forged a close relationship with the members of the Grateful Dead and Furthur since reuniting in 2009. They even announced their Cap return during GSW guitarist Aaron Maxwell’s sit in with John K earlier this year.
