Yonder Mountain String Band returned to Boulder, CO’s Boulder Theater last night. It was the third show of the band’s four-night stand at the theater.

As previously reported, Yonder welcomed Jason Carter for their entire show on Saturday but remained guest-free on Friday, last night two members of the E-Town radio show staff performed with Yonder for most of their show. E-Town drummer Christian Teele and E-Town host Nick Forster emerged for “Rag Doll” during Yonder’s first set and remained onstage for the rest of their first set. They returned during Yonder’s second set for “Fine Excuses” and performed with the group until their encore. Yonder busted in “Dreams” and “ “Southbound,” before welcoming their guests back for the Grateful Dead’s “Shakedown Street.” Forster switched between electric and steel guitars throughout the night.

In addition to his work with E-Town, Forster plays bass in the seminal band Hot Rize. Teele has worked with James Taylor, Rickie Lee Jones, David Crosby, Ben Harper, Moby, Joan Osborne and many others.

Yonder will return to the Boulder Theater this evening. Longtime band friend Darol Anger will join them for their performance. In a recent interview, the members of Yonder have also confirmed that they will release a new studio EP in early 2013.
