The latest group to jump onto the Record Store Day bandwagon is Aerosmith. At a Wednesday press conference the group announced that it will release an as-yet untitled recording, its first since 2001’s Just Push Play in time for its summer Global Warming Tour. The presser revealed that the new album will offer a storage vault treasure chest of leftover tracks and filler that didn’t make earlier albums. Meanwhile, the group also is demonstrating its hipness quotient by announcing participation in Record Store Day, offering some unused and semi-used riffs for sale via download at the Aerosmith website for bargain basement prices. When questioned as what this had to do with record Store Day, which aims to bring people into retail establishments and celebrate vinyl recordings, Steven Tyler responded, “Huh?” Then added “Whackamoleskadoodilydoo!”
