The String Cheese Incident have shared another bonus track off their 2023 set, Lend Me a Hand. The new song arrives after previous releases “Country Road Blues” and “Windy Mountain.” “Roll Around the Sun” clocks in at just under 10 minutes and is chocked full of explorative rhythms and jams destined for further exploration on the live stage.

Co-written by Jason Hann (SCI percussionist) and Brian Chapman (Zoo People), “Roll Around the Sun” extends a lyrical lead to electric mandolin player Michael Kang, who takes the listener on a sonic journey that references life’s ever-changing format, much like the composition itself which takes different instrumentally led forms throughout the extended play.

Connecting the song to recent astronomical events, Hann offered, “Many of us witnessed the recent solar eclipse, and I hope that ‘Roll Around the Sun’ can bring back some of those same feelings of awe and wonderment.” Filled with builds and bellows, the new track coalesces the skies above with an otherworldly presentation that can function as an ideal complement to the zeal of syzygy.

Following today’s release, The String Cheese Incident will remain away from the stage until May 16, when they arrive at Ting Pavilion in Charlottesville, Va., before working up the coast for a bevy of East Coast and Northeastern tour stops that will lead into their summer schedule.
