We’ve left the title to this story somewhat open-ended, however, as the Allman Brothers Band prepares to open their 2012 Beacon Theatre run tonight in New York City, Warren Haynes has shared some details about what is to transpire. We’ll offer one final spoiler alert for folks who might want to have it all be a surprise (and for those you who prefer it that way but are avid Warren Haynes and ABB fans, head over to Relix.com for another part of Dean Budnick’s conversation with Warren, which will focus on many other topics without revealing any Beacon details).

As for the Beacon run, Haynes offers, “we’re going to be doing an acoustic set this year at the beginning of the second set. It’s the first time in over a decade that we’ve done an acoustic set. As of now we’re planning on opening every second set with a few acoustic numbers, which is going to be really fun and challenging. We’ve been spending a lot of time rehearsing that stuff—coming up with songs we’ve never performed before and taking songs that we have performed before and turning them into acoustic versions.”

Haynes also shares insight into the electric sets, the 40th anniversary of Eat A Peach and more, so be sure to check out the complete Beacon interview which we just posted to the site.
