We just wanted to follow-up our earlier story on the Rock Hall by confirming some additional industry legends who will be inducted. First and foremost is longtime Allman Brothers Band producer Tom Dowd (Ray Charles, John Coltrane, Ornette Coleman,Otis Redding) who will receive the Award for Musical Excellence. Also being so honored are fellow engineers and producers Glyn Johns (Rolling Stones, Traffic, the Eagles, Ryan Adams) and Cosimo Matassa (Fats Domino, Dave Bartholomew, Professor Longhair). Promoter and television host Don Kirshner will receive the Ahmet Ertegun Award, while guitarist Freddie King is entering the Hall as an Early Influence.
