Last summer the Church of Universal Love and Music’s annual Funk Festival served as the genesis for a new band. Steve Molitz (Particle, Phil Lesh & Friends) joined Freekbass to sit in during DJ Logic’s set. The trio was so taken with the results that they decided to form a trio and pick up some gigs. They now have a name as well, courtesy of legendary bass player Bootsy Collins, who has dubbed them Headtronics. The three musicians have five April dates confirmed under their new moniker with additional shows likely to follow.
