World Circuit and Nonesuch Records will release Ali And Toumani on February 23. The album is the second and last album recorded by the late Malian guitar virtuoso Ali Farka Touré and kora master Toumani Diabaté. The album was recorded over three afternoons at London’s Livingston Studios in 2005, with contributions from the late Orlando “Cachaíto” López on bass. Touré died on March 7, 2006.

Like the pairs’ first collaborative album, Heart of the Moon, the album was produced by Nick Gold and recorded by Jerry Boys. It is the last album recorded by both Touré and Cachaíto López, the latter of whom passed away earlier this year.
