Atlanta-born guitar player Kaki King has announced the opening of The Exhibition at Brooklyn, NYs Littlefield Gallery. The multi-media art project originated this past spring when King gave 16 artists and fans actual guitars to create a piece of art inspired by one of her songs.

The Brooklyn gallery, located at 622 Degraw Street, will feature all 16 guitars. Artists have been inspired in many different ways ranging from building an art farm to creating an etching.
The Exhibition culminates August 7 at 7 PM with a display of the artwork and a performance by King two hours after the opening of the show. She will play her blue guitar, seen in the music video for Playing with Pink Noise, with pink paint on her hands and fingers. The guitar will be auctioned off to benefit VH1s Save the Music charity. All of the other pieces of art will be sold by the individual artist. Report by Grace Beehler
