Back in 2004, Paul McCartney performed at Neil Young’s Bridge School benefit concert. During the course of McCartney’s sets on both October 23 and 24, Sir Paul invited Young out for a reading of Young’s ‘Only Love Can Break Your Heart.’ On Saturday in London, Young returned the favor. During his encore at the Hard Rock Calling 2009 Festival in Hyde Park, Young brought out McCartney on piano for ‘A Day In The Life’ (although Young handled most of the lyrics himself- have a look). This show wrapped up Young’s month-long European tour with his band.
