James Carter will perform with an all-star band at New Yorks Blue Note from May 5-10. In addition to the saxophonist, the band will include:
John Medeski (organ), Adam Rogers (electric guitar), Christian McBride (bass) and Joey Baron (drums). The ensemble will play two shows each night and are expected to focus on material from Larry Youngs Unity, as well as the compositions of Sun Ra. The shows will be recorded for a live record on Half Note Records. Meanwhile, MMW will perform at Geneva, NYs Smith Opera House this evening.
