Last month we reported that Medeski Martin & Wood had pledged to perform shows ‘in three small clubs throughout downtown NYC.’ The three musicians, have indeed affirmed that they ‘haven’t forgotten about New York City!’ with the announcement of these gigs which will include a master class. On February 17 the band will deliver an acoustic performance at the 92Y Tribeca. Then, on Wednesday the 18th, MMW will move to (le) poisson rouge on Bleecker Street. The Downtown Tour will then culminate on February 19 at City Winery, the new venue owned by Knitting Factory founder Michael Dorf. This performance will be preceded by a master class that the group will teach at the venue from 3-5PM, with separate tickets available for each appearance at the venue.
