This past February, Split Lip Rayfield founding guitarist Kirk Rundstrom passed away due to esophageal cancer. This coming August, the three remaining members of the group will return to the stage for a performance in their native Wichita. Indeed, the band intends to honor Rundstrom’s memory by performing once again, with two shows currently scheduled: Friday August 17 at Cotillion Ballroom and Friday September 21 in Kansas City at The Crossroads. It appears that Eric Mardis, Jeff Eaton and Wayne Gottstine will perform as a three-piece, with additional details (and possibly more shows) yet to be announced.
