Former New Groove of the Month Ryan Montbleau will be well occupied over the coming weeks. He is in the midst of three residencies (in which Peter Prince will open each night with a solo set): Tuesdays at Sully’s Pub in Hartford, CT, Wednesdays at the Wheelhouse Tavern in Narragansett RI, and Thursdays at Greendale’s Pub in Worcester, MA. This past Friday Ryan and his band performed on the Rocks Off Boat Cruise, during which they welcomed Strangefolk’s Luke Patchen Montgomery to the stage for a jam the developed out of the groups ‘Shuffling Paper’ and led into a cover of Stevie Wonder’s ‘Boogie On Reggae Woman.’ On Saturday at Asbury Park, NJ’s Club Deep, Montbleau joined the Juggling Suns for a cover of Billy Preston’s ‘Will It Go Round In Circles?’
