As we reported last week, Bruce Hampton has taken some time off the road with the Codetalkers, who are currently performing as a trio. However, with the bands second studio effort now slated for a June release, the group has confirmed a handful of shows with the Colonel. He will appear at a number of upcoming CD release dates, including Bonnaroo, the Georgia Theater (June 22), Smiths Olde Bar in Atlanta (June 23) and Birminghams Workplay Theater (June 24). Beyond that he will join the group at the State Bridge Lodge in Bond, CO on August 26 and the Nederland Music and Arts Festival on August 27. Meanwhile, the Codetalkers who are in Cleveland on Wednesday night at Wilberts, will appear at the Mad Frog in Cincinnati on Thursday but have cancelled shows for Friday and Saturday (Peaches Grill in Yellow Springs, OH and Martyr’s in Chicago).
