The Dunkin Donuts Newport Folk Festival returns to Fort Adams State Park the first weekend in August with free crullers for everyone. Well okay, that’s a fib, there may be no complimentary pastry items for concertgoers (alas, there was no free ice cream back in the days when it was branded the Ben & Jerry’s Newport Folk Festival), however a number of artists that we feature at the site will participate. Keller Williams will appear on Sunday August 6 amidst a line-up that also includes the Indigo Girls, Madeleine Peyroux and Patty Larkin. Saturdays roster will feature David Gray, Rosanne Cash, Sonny Landreth, Bettye LaVette, Chris Smither and the Duhks. The Folk Fest also offers a Pavilion Stage where Sonya Kitchell and Chris Smither will be among the participants on Saturday while Odetta, Grace Potter & The Nocturnals and the Wood Brothers will perform on Sunday.
