Medeski Martin & Wood are currently recording their ninth studio album, which is slated for release in the spring of 2004. After a few sessions in their Brooklyn studio, Shacklyn, MMW headed to Los Angeles to work with producer John King of the Dust Brothers(Beastie Boys, Beck, Hanson). Word is the disc will have a slightly different feel than previous records.
The trio kicks off an extensive fall tour Thursday at Toads Place in New Haven, CT and will perform a Halloween concert the following evening at New Yorks Beacon Theatre. The tour runs through early December and will primarily hit markets in the Midwest and along the East Coast.
