Guitarists Jon Gutwillig and Al Schnier collaborated with Reid Genauer and the Assembly of Dust this weekend. Friday at the Somerville Theatre in Somerville, MA, Schnier (moe.) took the stage for The Weight. Genauer also sat in with Al and the Transamericans, who opened the show, for Jack Straw. Saturday at B.B. King Blues Club & Grill in New York City, Gutwillig (The Disco Biscuits) performed on Blues Tune. Jon opened the show with an acoustic set.
Genauer, a former member of Strangefolk, has a long history with moe. The bands have shared the stage many times over the years and were both on the Hoodoo Bash Tour in 1998 (the bill also included String Cheese Incident). As previously reported, moe.s Rob Derhak jammed with original Strangefolk member Erik Glockler this weekend as well.
Reid Genauer and the Assembly of Dust play next on December 27 at the Foggle Goggle in Bondville, VT. For the complete schedule, visit www.reidgenauer.com.
