Phish has announced that it will return to the stage for a three-set show on New Years Eve at Madison Square Garden in New York City. The group will then play a three-night stand at Hampton Coliseum in Hampton, VA on January 2, 3 and 4, 2003. The quartet also plans to tour and record and album later in 2003. Online tickets for the MSG and Hampton shows go on sale September 5 at 6 p.m. New Years Eve tickets go on sale to the general public on September 20 and Hampton tickets will be sold beginning on September 21.
In other Phish news, the band has announced the release of four Halloween concerts in the ongoing Live Phish series, Volumes 13 16, as well as a concert DVD. The groups tradition of covering other artists albums is captured on each release: The Beatles’ White Album (performed in 1994, Glens Falls, NY), The Who’s Quadrophenia (1995, Chicago, IL), Talking Heads’ Remain in Light (1996, Atlanta, GA), and The Velvet Underground’s Loaded (1998, Las Vegas, NV). The live DVD, PHISH: LIVE IN VEGAS, recorded on September 30, 2000 at Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas, will be released on November 12.
