Govt Mule hosted several special guests last night at Roseland Ballroom in New York City. The second set featured a rotating cast of bass players, many whom appear on Mules new albums, _The Deep End Vol. I _and II. Mike Gordon (Phish) emerged at the beginning of the set for On The Banks of the Deep End > Time to Confess and On Your Way Down. Tony Levin (King Crimson, Peter Gabriel) then performed on World of Confusion, Washing of the Water and Same Price. Stefan Lessard (Dave Matthews Band) sat in for Beautifully Broken, an instrumental Lively Up Yourself and Cortez the Killer. Jack Casady (Jefferson Airplane, Hot Tuna) then took the stage for Slow Happy Days, Voodoo Chile and Gonna Send You Back to Georgia, which closed the set. Keyboardist Rob Barraco (Phil & Friends) also performed for much of the show, opposite touring keyboardist Chuck Leavell. Saxophonist Tim Reese (The Rolling Stones) was featured in Down and Out in New York City and Beautifully Broken.
