Phishs Page McConnell and Mike Gordon sat in with the John Entwistle Band last night at a private show at B.B. Kings in New York City. McConnell and Govt Mule drummer Matt Abts joined the band for The Whos Long Live Rock and Chuck Berrys Johnny B. Goode. Gordon then took over on bass for a portion of the set.
Last Sunday, McConnell and Entwistle (The Who) recorded the track Same Price with Warren Haynes for the upcoming Govt Mule album, due out later this year. The CD features a very long list of special guests including Phil Lesh, Flea, Bootsy Collins, Les Claypool and Gregg Allman among others. Gordon is filming a documentary on the making of the album.
