My Morning Jacket: Outta My System

Three years and one onstage injury after releasing 2008’s Evil Urges, My Morning Jacket returns with Circuital. Recorded in Kentucky at the
band’s new studio, Circuital echoes back MMJ’s earlier, not-quite Americana sound while still exploring the experimental sounds of the group’s most recent work. Longtime My Morning Jacket scribe William Bowers—whose early essay of the band was featured in Da Capo’s Best Music Writing 2004 waxes poetic on the album and its place in the MMJ canon. In a companion piece, Relix hears from band members about their storied past, their current release Circuital and the future of one of America’s best live acts.
