Tyson Ritter, the lead singer for pop-rock group The All-American Rejects, will play Gregg Allman in an upcoming biopic based on Allman’s autobiography, My Cross to Bear. Actor Wyatt Russell will play the role of Duane Allman in the film, whose working title is Midnight Rider. Randall Miller (_Bottle Shock_, CBGB) will direct the movie, and production is expected to begin to this February in Savannah, GA.

Midnight Rider will include two stories, one that deals with the early years of the Allman Brothers Band, and another that focuses on a 64-year-old Allman, who has decided that he needs to clean up his act. The actors will sing and play guitar, piano and organ through the movie.
