Paul Simon canceled his appearance on Chris Thile’s Live From Here radio broadcast this past Saturday, citing illness.

As per an official statement, “For those attending the Oct 26 broadcast of Live from Here with Chris Thile, unfortunately, Paul has come down with a very bad cold and it has impeded his ability to perform on this week’s show. Paul is resting and recuperating, but he’s sorry he’s not able to be there. He loves the show and is a fan of Chris.”

Originally the singer-songwriter was scheduled to perform on a bill that featured Mavis Staples, Rachael Price, Janeane Garofalo, Brian Platzer, and Rachel & Vilray. But as the saying goes, “The show must go on,” and Live From Here was broadcast live sans Simon.

The singer-songwriter retired from extended touring in 2018, but has popped up for sporadic performances in 2019, recently headlining (and jamming with Bob Weir) at this year’s Outside Lands in San Francisco and busting out long-dormant Simon & Garfunkel tunes in Hawaii.

However, currently, Simon has no additional concerts scheduled.
