Today we offer a fair and balanced satellite radio coverage, moving from Sirius to XM. During an intimate performance on XM today (recorded for future broadcast), Trey Anastasio debuted a new composition, ‘Sweet Peace’ and discussed his first writing sessions with longtime songwriting partner Tom Marshall since Phish parted ways. During his seven song set, Anastasio ran through a breadth of material including ‘Lifeboy,’ ‘Shine,’ ‘Pebbles and Marbles’ and ‘Sweet Dreams Melinda.’ Confirming prior reports, Anastasio also shared details of his recent songwriting sessions, which resulted in ten new compositions (although ‘Sweet Peace’ is a solo effort). Anastasio also said he still hopes to finish his 2004 recording sessions with Tony Levin, which were brushed aside in favor of Shine well over a year ago. Reporting by Randy Ray
