While many of the bands scheduled to perform at Austins South by Southwest Music Conference in March remain a mystery, the annual industry event has confirmed that Lou Reed will serve as the events keynote speaker on March 13. Reed is expected to discuss his storied career and screen Julian Schnabels film Lou Reed’s Berlin. Other confirmed events include a conversation between Steve Reich and Sonic Youths Thurston Moore, a speech by Sire Records founder Seymour Stein and a performance by My Morning Jacket. SXSW will take place 12-16 throughout Austin, TX.
