Citing the rich traditions of The Doors of the 21st Century, The new Missing Persons and about twenty different groups that call themselves The Platters, Dangerous Dan Toler, David Goldflies, Mike Lawler and David Toler have announced that later this month they will begin a tour as ABB II, a group that will feature various other players who have put in stints with the Allman Brothers Band. Starting on April 19, ABB II will make the rounds of Beacon Diners, Beacon Restaurants and the occasional lighthouse in the Tri-state area. Additional musicians will join the group throughout the run but not the May 4 performance at Beacon Central Gas & Deli (Beacon, NY) which will feature only the core members of ABB II to preserve the sanctity of the date when Mike Lawler first added keytar to the Allman Brothers Band. Although Moogis will not be recording and broadcasting these shows, the group has enlisted some dude named Lenny to capture portions of each performance via his cell phone to deliver those quality YouTube clips we all enjoy so much. The identities of the special guest performers are still unknown, although fans of the ABB II can anticipate appearances by members of Cowboy and Sheryl Crow.
