Panic, SCI, Trey & Phil, Dave & Tim Highlight Vegoose at Night

The initial Vegoose at Night schedule has been confirmed, with artists performing at a range of venues including Orleans Arena, the House of Blues and The Joint at the Hard Rock. The first evening of music will be Friday October 27 with performances by Dave Matthews & Tim Reynolds (MGM Grand Garden), Trey Anastasio/Robert Randolph & The Family Band (Orleans Arena), Damian ‘Jr. Gong’ Marley (The Joint) and Keller Williams (House of Blues). Late night performers on the 28th include Phil Lesh & Anastasio (Orleans Arena), Maceo Parker (House of Blues) and STS9 (The Joint). On the evening of The 29th the String Cheese Incident will be at Orleans Arena with the final confirmed Vegoose at Night show headlined by Widespread Panic on Monday October 30 at the MGM Grand Garden.

The Wild Women of Worldbeat Return

After a nearly seven year absence, Pele Juju has confirmed a number of shows over the coming weeks. The all women’s worldbeat band will travel to Alaska for performances at the Alaska State Fair from August 30 through September 2. Then in September the group has confirmed gigs at Earth Dance (September 16, Black Oak Ranch, Laytonville CA), Ashkenaz (September 22, Berkeley CA) and The Catalyst (September 29, Santa Cruz CA). This incarnation of the band features most of the players who previously appeared with the band including: Molly Higbie (guitar, keyboards, vocals), Dana Hutson (lead vocals), Deb Lane (drums), Brindle (djembe), Afia Walking Tree (percussion) , Annie Steinhardt bass & fiddle) , Jayn Pettingill (saxophone) and Shelley Doty (guitar).

Jen Durkin Departs Bomb Squad

The Bomb Squad has confirmed that vocalist Jen Durkin has left the group. Durkin recorded two studio recordings with the Bomb Squad, and the band also appeared on the American Music Awards during her tenure. The group is currently auditioning singers with the new vocalist expect to be introduced in the fall. Prior to then, the Bomb Squad is performing with some guest musicians, as on September 8 at Sully’s Pub in Hartford, CT, where Javier Colon will sing and Rob Volo will join in on trombone.
