Between 1978-1985 in the process of putting together the PBS series American Patchwork, legendary folklorist Alan Lomax interviewed hundreds of musicians, singers and story-tellers. All in all more than 400 hours of footage exists of these individuals, some of which is now being made available online. Today in The Loop, we present a conversation with Lomax himself, followed by some of these video clips.
