Jim James has confirmed a series of solo acoustic dates. The My Morning Jacket frontman, who is slated to release his first solo album in eight years, Wowed Out, on August 28, will hit the road this fall, promising a mix of solo cuts, My Morning Jacket songs and fun covers. The outing will kick off at Louisville, KY’s Kentucky Performing Arts Brown Theatre on November 28 and include stops at Chicago, IL’s The Vic Theatre (12/1), New York, NY’s The Town Hall (12/3), Boston, MA’s Wilbur Theatre (12/6), Boulder, CO’s Boulder Theater (12/8) and Los Angeles, CA’s Glendale Presbyterian Church (12/11). Before then, James will appear at The Marquis on Main Street as part of Park City, UT’s Song Summit 2026 on August 28.
Along with the tour announcement, James has also shared the title-track and latest single from his new set, “Wowed Out,” along with a video for the song that was edited by W.G. Rickel.
“Lately I’ve been really into music like Alice Coltrane’s spiritual recordings,” James said in a statement, “where it’s just her and organ praying together, and there’s no major event. I wanted these songs to feel like a journey that takes you somewhere rewarding, without always trying for some big dramatic payoff like a massive chorus or a huge guitar solo.”
My Morning Jacket will perform at Fairport, NY’s Hoochenanny on August 15.
