Ahead of some mid-September tour dates, The War on Drugs have released their first new studio music since 2022. Adam Granduciel wrote and produced “Who’s That” at his Burbank studio. He’s joined by Anthony LaMarca (drums) and Dave Hartley (bass) on the track, while he provides guitars, keys and vocals.
Granduciel notes, “‘Who’s That’ was written in 10 minutes somewhere between first coffee and school drop off, It’s a song about trying to love yourself despite things we can’t always control, like the anxiety, depression and self-doubt that may stand in the way of living the life we truly desire.”
The new song is accompanied by a video directed by Max Flick that captures the band leader out and about one evening in Burbank. “Who’s That” is currently streaming.
The War on Drugs’ next show is on September 18 at The Queen in Wilmington, DE. The group’s upcoming dates appear below the video.
