Grahame Lesh & Friends is taking Unbroken Chain: A Celebration of the Life and Music of Phil Lesh to the West Coast. For three nights, March 20-22, 2026, The Fillmore in San Francisco will come alive with the songs and spirit of the Grateful Dead. During the impending concerts, the hosts and their expansive roster of guests will also honor the late Bobby Weir.

In a post announcing the concerts, Grahame Lesh said:

The Lesh Family are so thrilled to celebrate Phil Lesh, our dad, husband, grandpa, and so much more, in San Francisco with our Bay Area Deadhead family. We are excited to announce Unbroken Chain: a Celebration of the Life & Music of Phil Lesh, hosted by Grahame Lesh & Friends, on 3/20-22 at the Fillmore in San Francisco.

Of course, we are all saddened to announce this just days after our dear Bobby reascended back through the planetary spheres. The fact is, we cannot celebrate Phil without celebrating Bob – or Jerry, or Pigpen, or Donna, or Keith, or Hunter, or Brent, or Vince, or Bear, or Barlow, any of the Grateful Dead family we’ve lost over the 60+ years of this music. Their lives as bandmates, friends, & family are all too entwined to celebrate any one without the others.

I’m so happy to bring together an insane lineup of amazing musicians to perform at the Fillmore for these shows. I am so thankful to every single one of them – my dad’s friends, collaborators, inspirations, and more – for joining me in pushing the music of these titans forward into the future.

We believe that people need this music more than ever, will continue to beyond our time here on earth. Bob spoke of the three-hundred-year legacy of the Grateful Dead songbook, and Phil talked about the Grateful Dead as a huge old Grandfather Oak tree, its roots deep in the earth of America’s musical history, its trunk is the original members of the band, & its branches & leaves are all the musicians who continue to be inspired by the music of the Dead. Those concepts are intertwined, and all of us who continue to play this music will honor their intentions and the legacy of their music every time we step onstage.

The impending musical timeline brings together friends, collaborators, and bandmates beginning on Friday, March 20. Joining Grahame Lesh & Friends are Taylor Goldsmith, Eric Krasno, Barry Sless, Benmont Tench, Jason Crosby, Don Was, Griffin Goldsmith, John Molo, Elliott Peck, Natalie Cressman and Jennifer Hartswick.

The celebration will continue on Saturday, March 21, with Nels Cline, Tom Hamilton, Jackie Greene, Oteil Burbridge, Jay Lane, Nicki Bluhm and Cody Dickinson joining Peck, Crosby, Cressman and Hartswick. The third and final concert will bring together Stu Allen, Alex Koford, Rob Barraco, Holly Bowling, Karl Denson, Krasno, Burbridge and Lane.

The initial Unbroken Chain: A Celebration of the Life and Music of Phil Lesh began as a multi-night event in March 2025, following the Grateful Dead bassist’s passing. The annual occasion has continued The Capitol Theatre’s tradition of celebrating Lesh’s birthday with family, friends and fans.

Before the West Coast arrival of the concert series, Grahame Lesh & Friends will celebrate Phil’s 86th birthday at The Capitol Theatre, March 12-15.

A local ticket pre-sale will begin on Thursday, Jan. 15, at 10 a.m. PT. General ticket on sale will follow on Friday, Jan. 16 at 10 a.m. PT.
