Grateful Shred have announced plans for Halloween. The band, known for its West Coast-rooted, easy-going and harmony-driven approach to accentuating the music of the Grateful Dead, will take its collective talent to The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, N.Y., on Friday, October 31, 2025, for a night dubbed All Hallow’s Eve with Special Guests. Costumes encouraged!
The group, Austin McCutchen, Dan Horne, Adam MacDougall, Austin Beede, John Lee Shannon, and Alex Koford, is wrapping its Spring East tour, which began in mid-April. It will conclude over two nights at The Charleston Pour House in Charleston, S.C., on May 10 and 11.
Following the band’s Spring East tour closer, Grateful Shred will participate in a series of regional gigs next month, beginning at The Crystal Bay Club Casino in Crystal Bay, Nev., on June 5. Then, the ensemble will take part in California follow-ups: San Francisco (June 6-7), Los Angeles (June 13), San Diego (June 14) and San Luis Obispo (June 15).
An August 1 outlier will bring the band, and special guests Circles Around the Sun (Horne’s other band), to The Zoo Amphitheatre in Oklahoma City, Okla., for a musical celebration of the late Jerry Garcia on his birthday.
Apart from their touring commitments, on April 29, Grateful Shred announced its debut album, Might As Well, due out on June 6, featuring special guest and collaborator Mikaela Davis, who led the group’s initial single, the Donna Jean and Keith Godcheaux track “Sweet Baby.” Read the album announcement here.
