On Saturday, April 12, My Morning Jacket pulled into Irving, Texas for the seventh stop on the is tour. Building on the tremendous energy of their tour outset, which included the dazzling 2025 iteration of their long-running One Big Holiday concert getaway, the roots rock powerhouse stormed the stage of The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory with another expansive single set performance. Highlights among the 24-track staging included a guest spot from opener Grace Cummings on Neil Young’s “Harvest Moon” and a debut cover of AC/DC’s “Ride On.”

My Morning Jacket kicked off their performance with a rare performance of frontman Jim James solo offering “Here in Spirit,” drawn from his 2016 sophomore album Eternally Even. From this haunting, slow-burn intro, the band tore into the fan favorite “Mahgeetah,” then, shorty after, welcomed Australian singer-songwriter Cummings to the stage to trade verses with James on the band’s stirring seventh staging of Young’s 1992 classic.

MMJ tore through the remainder of their set with an eclectic mix of tracks from throughout their 27-year discography, matching longtime staples like “Circuital,” “Dondante” and “Holdin On to Black Metal” with new is standouts like “Out in the Open,” “I Can Hear Your Love” and the rocking second single “Squid Ink.” After tour debuts of “They Ran” and “Lucky to Be Alive,” Cummings returned for the hardest-hitting jam vehicle on the band’s new album, “River Road.”

The band merged this thundering performance into its debut of AC/DC’s powerful Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap cut “Ride On,” then wrapped the set with “Easy Morning Rebel” and a finale of “One Big Holiday.” Once the lights went down, the quintet stepped onstage again for a four-track encore of “I Will Be There When You Die,” another tour debut, followed by “Feel You,” Spring (Among the Living)” and “Wordless Chorus.”

My Morning Jacket will perform next at Rogers, Ark.’s Walmart Amp on April 15, then sprint through 37 further performances across the country before a tour closing show at Atlanta’s Fox Theatre on Nov. 1. For tickets and more information, visit mymorningjacket.com/tour.
