Over the weekend, Umphrey’s McGee played two gigs in their native Midwest. Both of these shows featured songs last performed in August 2019.

On Friday, the group appeared at the Morris Performing Arts Center in South Bend, IN—the home of Notre Dame, where many of the band members attended college. Here, Umphrey’s also revisited the past by busting out “Ride On Pony.” This UM original, which debuted on 4/5/09 has appeared only infrequently in the group’s setlists over the years and was last played on 8/30/19.

Then on Saturday, at Milwaukee’s Riverside Theater, Umphrey’s delivered another rarity, via a version of “Layla.” The group had premiered the Eric Clapton tune on 5/3/31 but had last performed it in on 8/10/19, a span of 379 shows. Earlier in the evening, UM also debuted another cover, a version of “Jesus, Etc” from Wilco’s acclaimed 2002 album, Yankee Hotel Foxtrot.

Following their Midwest dates it’s on to the Dominican Republic where Umphrey’s McGee will appear later today at Tool Live In the Sand.
