LCD Soundsystem opened their fall residency at Los Angeles’ Shrine Exposition Hall last night. With the show falling on Halloween, the band celebrated the night by kicking things off with their debut cover of Bauhaus’ 1979 single “Bela Lugosi’s Dead,” considered to be among the first post-punk goth songs. Then, later in the evening, the band debuted “X-Ray Eyes,” their first new song since 2022.

Written by James Murphy, Al Doyle and Nancy Whang, and produced by James Murphy for DFA Productions, “X-Ray Eyes” was released today and will appear on the LCD Soundsystem’s forthcoming studio album, the follow-up to 2017’s American Dream.

The ensemble has seven additional shows slated for the Shrine. Following the conclusion of the LA run, the band will return to the Knockdown Center in Queens, NY for a 12-show residency taking place over three weekends, November 21-24, December 5-8 and December 12-15.
