The 4th annual NOLAxNOLA concert series, running from tonight, September 26, to October 6 across more than 50 venues in New Orleans and featuring more than 300 performances, including music, comedy, and burlesque, showcases the city’s vibrant artistic landscape while promoting its historic music venues. Of particular note are all-star tributes to Stevie Wonder at Tipitina’s tonight featuring Irma Thomas, Cyril Neville, and Kermit Ruffins as well as an all-star tribute to Allen Toussaint at the Toulouse Theatre on October 5 featuring Music Director Reginald Toussaint, Thomas, Neville, John Boutte and more. As part of this year’s event, NOLAxNOLA has announced its partnership with Relix to present NOLAxNOLA Talks, October 3-4, 2024, at The Double Dealer, located in Crescent City’s Orpheum Theater. On the docket are seven panels featuring a high-profile lineup of speakers.
NOLAxNOLA Talks will focus its themes around New Orleans’ music industry and developing the city’s national status as a live entertainment hub by analyzing its all-encompassing connections to music, culture, and sports. Speaks comprised of industry/city leaders, artists, and cultural ambassadors, will also discuss the challenges and chances for the city to shine.

Bobby Hjortsberg (Captain of the Krewe of Freret) navigated his Mardi Parade to be the first to roll with no plastic beads in 2025, he will moderate a panel of environmental pioneers including Annie Farman (Plastic Pollution Coalition), Theresa Young (Founder Greengenutiy) and Jaron Druker (Tectronic) to explore their difficult task of making music and film production green despite the challenges and expense.
