Thurston Moore has confirmed a run of intimate shows at some unique places throughout New York City. On December 1, the Sonic Youth co-founder will sit for a discussion with journalist Anthony DeCurtis at 92Y. Then, the following day, Moore will participate in a Grammy Museum performance at Brooklyn, NY’s National Sawdust that will include a performance and talk with writer Jenn Pelly.

From there, Moore will host a residency at The Stone. Moore, who has appeared at the John Zorn-founded space regularly since its original Ave C location, will play a set of improv music with a different combo each day. Those musicians include a quartet with Zoh Amba (saxophone), Jon Leidecker (electronics) and Ryan Sawyer (percussion) on December 4, a duo with Fred Frith on December 5, a reunion with fellow Sonic Youth co-founder Lee Ranaldo on December 6 and a trio with William Winant (percussion) and Tom Surgal (percussion) on December 5.

Moore recently released his ninth solo album, Flow Critical Lucidity and a memoir, Sonic Life. He also hosts a residency at the Louvre and teacher writer at Allen Ginsberg & Anne Waldman’s Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics at Boulder’s Naropa University.
