Dayglo & Nectar’s Present have shared their plan to bring The Jerry Dance Party to Lark Hall in Albany, N.Y., on Friday, October 25, and Saturday, October 26. The newly announced late-night events will take place on the weekend of Phish’s three-night benefit concert series at MVP Arena in Albany, N.Y., with all proceeds gained through the event going toward the Divided Sky Residential Recovery Program and its newly opened facility in Ludlow, Vt.
Maintaining its habitual offering of tunes culled from all eras of Jerry Garcia’s career, the event will percolate live cuts from the Grateful Dead, Old & In The Way, Jerry Garcia Band, New Riders of the Purple Sage, and many more, qualifying as choice numbers during the event. As always, The Jerry Dance Party will feature state-of-the-art audio combined with a mind-bending light and video experience at the hands of DJ Jerrbrother.
Concert promoter and Relix publisher Peter Shapiro discussed the event, chronicling it, “Jerry Dance Party is a chance for music lovers to experience the mind-bending marriage of cutting-edge audio-visual technology with the timeless music of the Grateful Dead.”
Since its inception, The Jerry Dance Part has provided a space for folks of similar music interests to unite and groove to some of their favorite jam music. “We’re bringing Garcia’s entire career to the dance floor for three-plus hours of the most ripping, psychedelic live tracks,” says its host, DJ JerrBrother.
“Undoubtedly, at every Jerry Dance Party, people come up to me and ask, ‘What show was that from?’ ‘What year is this song from?’ I’ve combed through hours of live Garcia tracks to find the best of the best. We leave people with a renewed sense of exploration and love for the guy who brought it every night, Garcia.” True to the disc jockey’s word, no two shows are the same.
Tickets are on sale for The Jerry Dance Party at Lark Hall in Albany, N.Y., on Friday, October 25, and Saturday, October 26.
