Railroad Earth are currently in the midst of a multi-night West Coast run. On December 28, the New Jersey-bred group performed at San Francisco’s The Fillmore. Local favorites Hot Buttered Rum opened the night and, during the group’s second set, that outfit’s Erik Yates emerged to play flute on “Fisherman’s Blues.” The Waterboys tune fell in the middle of a segue that opened with “Hunting Song” and closed with “Mourning Flies.”

Railroad Earth will close the year with shows at Bend, OR’s Midtown Ballroom tonight and tomorrow.
