Dark Star Orchestra has announced the final artist additions for their annual music festival, Dark Star Jubilee, slated to return to Legend Valley in Thornville, Ohio, on May 24 through 26.
The impending gathering presents three nights of performance from the event’s curators and sets from a talented lineup of musicians rooted in the power of improvisation.
Newly added guest additions include Keller Williams’ Grateful Gospel featuring John Kadlecik, who will tap into the spiritual side of the Grateful Dead catalog. Also joining the roster is the six-piece synthwave experience known as Doom Flamingo. Rounding out the list is the Sam Grisman Project, a celebration of David “Dawg” Grisman and Jerry Garcia’s joint repertoire and beyond.
Returning to Jubilee are past participants and previously announced acts: Greensky Bluegrass, Melvin Seals & JGB, and Holly Bowling. The occasion will feature first-time festival contributors like Daniel Donato’s Cosmic Country, Jennifer Hartswick Band, and Doom Flamingo. Also included on the lineup are Jeff Mattson & Friends, Joe Hertler & The Rainbow Seekers, Rumpke Mountain Boys, Pimps Of Joytime, Doc Robinson, Barefuzz and Dino English Presents Vitamin A.
Adding to the specialty of the event, the Grateful Guitars Foundation will bring four historical Grateful Dead guitars, including Jerry Garcia’s Alligator and the Martin D-28 acoustic Garcia used when recording American Beauty. Grateful Guitars Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit that obtains world-class musical instruments for talented players to carry on the jamband tradition.
