On Thursday and Friday nights, against the stunning backdrop of Red Rocks Park and Amphitheater in Morrison, Colo., Goose unleashed a blend of musical explorations, refined favorites and pristine covers. Nestled in the natural splendor of Red Rocks, renowned for its acoustic perfection, Goose’s performances took on an otherworldly quality as some of the band’s most devoted fans in the Rocky Mountains united under a crisp autumn sky.

The opening evening of Goose’s two-night stand at the iconic amphitheater kicked off with a cover of “The Killing Moon” by Echo & The Bunnymen; the band immediately set the tone for an unforgettable evening. The first set continued with a blend of fan favorites and surprises, including “Same Old Shenanigans” > “Atlas Dogs” > “Turbulence & The Night Rays.” Night fell as they worked through “Bob Don” before they rounded out the set with “Pancakes” and fan favorite “So Ready.”

The second set elevated the energy even further, beginning with “Creatures” into a rendition of “Shama Lama Ding Dong” by Otis Day & The Knights. “Feel It Now” and “This Old Sea” showcased the band’s songwriting and improvisational prowess, leading into “The Labyrinth,” the first since Aug. 16, 2022, or 103 shows. A soothing “Hot Tea” brought the set to a close. The night was concluded with an encore of “Flodown.”

Night two at Red Rocks proved to be another exemplary performance from Goose. “Echo of a Rose” kicked off the night with a fast-paced version, setting the tempo for the evening. The band continued with “Mr. Action,” “Lead Up,” and before getting undeniably sexy with their debut cover of Prince’s “I Would Die 4 U.” After “Everything Must Go,” Goose showcased their versatility further with a slow and melodic rendition of “All I Need” before closing the set with “Yeti.”

The second set maintained the momentum, featuring tracks like “Thatch” and a heartfelt rendition of David Gray’s “Please Forgive Me.” “Borne” and “Hungersite” then highlighted the band’s prowess and distinct sound. The diverse covers continued as the ensemble moved from a cover of “What’s Up” by 4 Non Blondes, followed by “Factory Fiction,” which included a “Dragonfly” tease from Rick Mitarotonda. The night ended with the title track from the band’s LP, which started it all, “Dripfield.”

Goose will continue to share their sound with the Centennial State with a performance at the Lory Student Center in Fort Collins, tonight.
