Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter, and musician Molly Tuttle, along with her band, Golden Highway, have announced they’re are set to hit the road for their Next Rodeo tour on the East Coast this November. The tour will see the ensemble make stops at beloved venues like New York City’s Brooklyn Made, Burlington, Vt.’s Higher Ground Ballroom, Albany, N.Y.’s The Egg, Ardmore, Pa.’s Ardmore Music Hall, and Washington DC’s 9:30 Club, among others.
The news of the tour comes hot on the heels of the band’s successful Road to El Dorado run on the west coast, which featured captivating performances at renowned venues like Portland, Ore.’s Aladdin Theatre, Seattle’s Crocodile, Boise, Ind.’s Knitting Factory, Salt Lake City’s Commonwealth Room, and Denver’s Cervantes Other Side.
The upcoming shows will celebrate Tuttle’s latest album, City of Gold, released last month on Nonesuch Records. The project was produced by Tuttle and Jerry Douglas and inspired by her extensive touring with Golden Highway recently, following her 2022 record, Crooked Tree, which won the Best Bluegrass Album at the 65th Annual Grammy Awards.
The release of the new album coincides with a triumphant year for Tuttle, who has been nominated for an impressive seven awards at the 2023 IBMA Bluegrass Music Awards. The nominations include Entertainer of the Year, Female Vocalist of the Year, Guitar Player of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Instrumental Group of the Year, and Collaborative Recording of the Year. Bronwyn Keith-Hynes, a band member of Golden Highway, has also been nominated for Fiddle Player of the Year; other band members include Dominick Leslie (mandolin), Shelby Means (bass, harmony vocals), and Kyle Tuttle (banjo, harmony vocals) who will join Tuttle on the Next Rodeo tour.
