Back in June, Brooklyn-based folk-rock outfit Woods shared plans to drop an 11-track LP, Perennial, due Sept. 15 via the band’s Woodsist label. Along with their initial announcement, the band treated fans to an early listen of the project’s lead double-single, “Between The Past” b/w “White Winter Melody.” Today, Woods launched a second double-single preview, “Another Side” b/w “Weep.” 

“Another Side” – which will serve as the third song on the album’s tracklist– features an energetic freakbeat, in contrast to the hazier soundscapes of “Between The Past” and “White Winter Melody.” “Weep”–the ninth track on the lineup–is equally dynamic in its vocal harmonies and groovy instrumentals.

In addition to this morning’s new music, Woods have also shared plans to hit the road in the weeks following their album release. The band will kick off their brief East Coast run with a Sept. 23 appearance at the Woodsist Festival at Arrowood Farm in Accord, N.Y. The rockers will play alongside an eclectic lineup of artists curated by Woods’ own Jeremy Earl, including Kevin Morby, Kurt Vile and the Violators, Avery Tare, Cass McCombs, Bombino, Natural Information Society, Scientist, MJ Lenderman, Water from Your Eyes, Alabaster DePlume, Taper’s Choice, Daniel Higgs, Tyvek, Anna St Louis, Aquarium Drunkard DJ  and Tubby’s DJs.

Other stops on the itinerary include a Sept. 26 performance at Comet Ping Pong in Washington, a Sept. 27 set at Philadelphia’s Kung Fu Necktie and a one-night-stand at New York City’s Knitting Factory on Sept. 28. Woods will polish off their jaunt on Sept. 30, with a show at Radio Bean in Burlington, Vt.
