Boston-based rock band Neighbor will release their debut self-titled album this spring. The band announced plans to drop the new 12-track collection in May 2023 and shared that they will mark the occasion with a hometown show on May 19 at The Wilbur Theatre.

The band–Dean Johnson, Richard James, Dan Kelly and Lyle Brewer–and Matt Wayne produced the album, which was tracked over nine months at Ghost Hit Recording in Springfield, Mass., and Dimension Sound in Boston. Mixed by Paul Q Kolderie (Radiohead, The Pixies, Warren Zevon) and mastered by Kevin Reeves at East Iris Studios in Nashville, Tenn., the group’s long-awaited studio release features 12 original tracks.

Neighbor’s forthcoming album highlights the group’s ability to compose tight arrangements and turn out soulful material. The diverse assemblage of new music will include studio recordings of tracks such as “Take Me Alive,” “Isla,” “Lonely Rider,” “Don’t You Cry,” “You Could Be Mine,” “Mary and Martha” and more. The release of the debut album will also mark the first time the band’s music will be available on major streaming platforms.

The band shared that they have curated eight pre-order packages that allow their fanbase to purchase first-edition color vinyl copies of the album. In addition, the band is also offering the Neighbor community an opportunity to listen to the album in their longtime tour bus, win tickets to their hometown album release show and more.

Pre-order the new album now. All album pre-sale purchasers between now and 12 a.m. E.T. on Jan. 26 will receive early access to purchase tickets to The Wilbur Theatre show on Thursday, January 26 at 10 a.m. E.T. Tickets will be available to the general public on Friday, Jan. 27 at 12 p.m. ET.
