After announcing 2023 shows slated for the West Coast in mid-October, The Wood Brothers have followed up today by adding 20 additional stops to their impending late winter and spring tour. The newly added dates will see the group trek across the U.S. supporting a new studio album, Heart Is The Hero, due this spring.
The ensemble unveiled that after they wrap their last previously announced gig on Feb. 10 at Portland, Ore.’s Revolution Hall, they will take a quick break from the road before returning on Feb. 24 for the initial stop of the freshly publicized tour at Simmons Bank Arena in North Little Rock, Ark., where they’ll receive support from The Avett Brothers and Turnpike Troubadours.
From there, the group of musicians will work in a stop at Lexington Opera House on March 1 before jumping up to Detroit’s Majestic Theatre the following night. Next, The Wood Brothers will embark on the East Coast leg of the tour, making stops in New York state before traveling to Rhode Island and Pennsylvania.
They’ll descend upon Rocky Mount, Va. next, where they’ll play at Harvester Performance Center on March 9 before gigs in North Carolina, Tennessee and Arizona. Then, as April unfolds, The Wood Brothers will take the stage in Colorado, followed by a one-night stand at The Stiefel Theatre for the Performing Arts in Salina, Kan., on April 17.
After a night at JJ’s Live in Fayetteville, Ark., the band will jump to Oklahoma for a show at Cain’s Ballroom on April 20, followed by a set of Lone Star State concerts in Tilmon, Texas, followed by Houston. The Wood Brother’s final tour date lands on May 11 and will see the ensemble take The Salt Shed stage in Chicago, where they will be joined by husband and wife duo, Shovel and Ropes.
“As a young man touring felt like an indulgent adventure: seeing new places, eating local foods, enjoying the applause and joining the party,” says Oliver Wood. “As I get older, however, it’s become more of a mission to connect with people and make them happy. We’re so grateful that our songs have found a special place in people’s lives. For all of us, band and audience, to share in a heartfelt human experience together is much needed in these times.”
Artist pre-sale tickets will be available Thursday, Nov. 17 at 10 a.m. local, while general on-sale begins Friday, Nov. 18 at 10 a.m. local time, at thewoodbros.com.
