On Oct. 13 through 16, the annual Suwannee Roots Revival event took place at the Spirit of Suwannee Music Park in Live Oak, Fla. The weekend festivities included a range of Americana, bluegrass, and blues musicians, including the Punch Brothers, who worked through a Saturday evening set on the Amphitheater Stage. As a follow-up to the weekend fun, three videos capturing parts of the Chris Thile-led ensembles’ high-energy festival performance in The Sunshine State have been uploaded to YouTube. Available for streaming are Punch Brothers’ originals “Familiarity” off the 2015 LP, The Phosphorescent Blues, and “Jumbo,” which appeared on the group’s 2018 follow-up All Ashore. 

The final video captures an extended, nearly 12-minute-long instrumental jam that shows off the group, comprised of Thile on mandolin, fiddler Gabe Witcher, banjoist Noam Pikelny, guitarist Chris Eldridge and bassist Paul Kowert, carrying out the monstrous bluegrass improvisation.
