Last night, Angel Olsen stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to deliver the first track, “All the Good Times,” off her latest studio album, Big Time, which dropped on June 3 via Jagjaguwar.
For her stand on the late-night talk show, Olsen brought along The Big Time Band, who assisted the songstress on the soulful delivery of the spotless number. The performance got underway, with Olsen spitting the lyrics as the instrumentals built toward a climax, drawing in the listen with her refined tone and the band’s tinge of twang.
Olsen boogied on stage with the confidence of a well-seasoned musician, a title she earned since rising onto the indie folk scene in 2009. Last night’s display was capped with sweet thank you’s to the show’s host before Olsen reminded the audience of her upcoming gigs with Sharon Van Etten and Julien Baker at New York City’s Central Park as a part of their Wild Hearts Tour.
Tonight, Olsen and her collaborators will take the stage at Boston’s Leader Bank Pavilion. Then, she’ll follow up on Friday, Aug. 19, with a gig at Skyline Stage at The Mann in Philadelphia. Moreover, the joint tour with Van Etten and Baker will close with two gigs on Aug. 20 and 21, when the trio performs at New York’s Summerstage.
